PeopleSoft® Student Financials
Academe Solutions' Student Financials consultants are experts in
identifying numerous options for calculating tuition and fees and designing the
fee structure that is right for your institution. We can assist you in
establishing a structure to meet the needs of a broad grouping of students, as
well as creating specific fees to meet special circumstances for very select
groups of students. Term fees are the primary mechanism for calculating tuition
and fees based on the course load that a student has selected. In addition,
tuition and fees can be calculated based on specific courses and classes.
For the system to calculate tuition for your students, all students must first
be placed in tuition groups. Tuition groups describe a category of students who
are charged the same set of fees using the same general rules. Students are
placed in tuition groups using criteria you establish. Criteria consist of
variables or identifying student information. Any logical statement can be
constructed using criteria and will provide a yes or no answer to the question
of whether or not a student should belong to a specific tuition group. When you
run the Tuition Calculation Program, the system will use the criteria you have
constructed to place students in tuition groups and calculate tuition and fees
based on the term fees and course lists attached to the tuition group.
Calculations can also be achieved through individual course and class fees.
